On Monday, November 9, the 17th year of the Science and Technology Week in Slovakia began. An event full of scientific events, including lectures, competitions, discussions, open days, interviews, laboratory tours and many other activities, offers the public and those interested in science and technology the opportunity to see the world of scientists.

Due to the current pandemic situation associated with the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, the events of the Science and Technology Week in Slovakia 2020 are moving mainly to the online space. The Biomedical Research Center of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (BMC SAS) has prepared an overview of online lectures and videos for 2020 on several interesting topics. We also draw attention to an online event called Monday with Neurology, in which RNDr. Jan Bakos, PhD. introduces the topic “From neuron to brain”.

In Košice, colleagues from the Institute of Neurobiology of the BMC SAS prepared an online lecture and discussion on the topic “Electricity in the human body” for students of the J. A. Reiman Grammar School in Prešov.
